To Explore The Mechanism Of Compound Pingfei Tea To Improve Food-borne Simple Obesity

Objective:To observe the effects of the Compound Pingfei Tea on body weight,total food-intake,blood fat,Fasting plasma glucose and Uncoupling Protein-1(UCP-1)mRNA from adipose around kidney and hypothalamus proopiomelanocortin(POMC)mRNA and Nesfatin-1 expression in DIO rats.Methods:50 rats were randomly divided into normal diet group(ND)and high fat diet group(HFD).After the DIO model were established,the successful model rats were randomly divided into HFD group,Orlistat group(OLST)and the Compound Pingfei Tea group(CPFT).ND and HFD were treated with distilled water by gavage.OLST and CPFT were treated with orlistat and the Compound Pingfei Tea by gavage respectively.After 5 weeks,all rats were sacrificed to detect the body weight,total food-intake,TC,LDL,HDL,PFG,UCP-1 mRNA,POMC mRNA and Nesfatin-1 expression in adipose tissue and the adipocyte.Results: The weight gain and food-intake of OLST and CPFT were significant lower than HFD(P<0.05).Compared with HFD,the blood fat and fasting plamse glucose in OLST and CPFT were decreased(P<0.05).Meanwhile,the expression of UCP-1 mRNA and POMC mRNA and Nesfatin-1 in CPFT and in OLST was increased(P<0.05).But compared with CPFT,OLST showed watery stools,a decrease in activity,mental fatigue and yellow hairs.But CPFT had regular stools and sleek coat.Conclusion: The Compound Pingfei Tea has the effects on weight loss and protecting the glucolipid metabolic balance and increasing the UCP-1 mRNA and POMC mRNA expression,reducing appetite,promoting the browning of white fat.The Second Pingfei Decoction seems to be superior to Orlistat as a anti-obesity therapy with less side effects.
