Clinical Study Of Serum Bradykinin Levels And Alzheimer's Disease And Amnestic Mild Cognitive Impairment

Objective We aimed to investigate the occurrence and the role in the development of serum BK in Alzheimer,s disease(AD) and amnestic mild cognitive impairment(a MCI).Methods 132 cases were collected from January 2014 to January 2015, Department of neurology Qingdao Municipal Hospital and apartments for the elderly.The related risk factors and other clinical data were collected, furthermore neuropsychologicaltests were conducted.Subjects included 132 cases, including AD group?a MCI group and the control group, and analyze the level of serum BK with bradykinin ELISA Kit.Results Univariate analysis showed The level of Serum BK in these three groups showed significant difference(P=0.019).Meanwhile,compared with controlgroup(P=0.000)and a MCI(P=0.004)group, thelevelof Serum BK in AD was significantly higher. Logistic regression analysis showed that level of Serum BK was a risk factor for AD(OR 1.085, 95% CI 1.018~1.157;P=0.013).Pearson correlation analysis showed that the level of BK was negatively related to MMSE and its sub-items. BK correlation coefficient showed that the serum levels have the maximum impact on attention and calculation(r =-0.377), and have greater impact on immediate recall(r =-0.341), recall ability(r =-0.320). Using ROC curve showed that the area under the curve was 0.806,95%CI(0.715~0.898,P=0.000), the sensitivity for the diagnosis of AD was 98%, and the specificity was 85%.Conclusion Serum BK is a risk factor for AD; serum BK mainly affects attention and calculation, the ability of instantly recall and recall, A higher BK level is at a worse cognitive decline. Serum BK may be used as biological indicators of reference of the AD diagnosis.
