Objective Detection of the elderly in plasma of patients with hypertension with cysteine(Hcy) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and adiponectin levels, to explore the mechanism of hypertension in the elderly and in their mutual interaction in elderly patients with essential hypertension(EH).Methods Take patients between March and October in the year of 2012 in the outpatient department of Hanting District People's Hospital of 90 hypertension patients as the observation group, at the age of 60~80, according to the WHO/ISH criteria, all patients in observation group were systolic blood pressure(SBP) were more than 140 mm Hg and(or) diastolic blood pressure(DBP) for more than 90 mm Hg. Control group selected 90 cases of healthy elderly in our hospital during the same period, aged between 60~80 years old. The general clinical data of all patients were recorded and the levels of fasting Hcy, VEGF and adiponectin were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The laboratory test results into the computer, the use of SPSS17.0 software package, the results of the analysis of a=0.05 difference was statistically significant. The methods are as follows: in elderly hypertensive patients and healthy elderly group general descriptive analysis; using one sample K-S test method of measurement data inspection; if the measurement data to conform to normal distribution, variance is homogeneous with the t-test to compare two sample mean, t-statistic value; if the variance not neat, the use of T test, t statistics' value. If the measurement data is not normal, we use the Wilcoxon comparison method to compare the two samples. Results The body mass index, blood lipid levels were higher in the elderly hypertension group than in the control group. Hcy level in elderly patients with hypertension than in healthy elderly group(P < 0.05) and elderly hypertensive men group, Hcy level is not higher than in elderly hypertensive women group(P > 0.05); in elderly hypertensive patients, the vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and adiponectin levels lower than in healthy elderly group(P < 0.05), aged male hypertensive group, VEGF and fat adiponectin level is not lower than the elderly women in hypertension group(P > 0.05).Conclusions High homocysteine hyperlipidemia, low vascular endothelial growth factors disease and low-fat associated hyperprolactinemia the presence of in elderly patients with hypertension, suggesting that they may have some association with hypertension in the elderly.
