Because of its unprecedented scale, far-reaching political and economic influence, the First World War of1914-1918has been attracting worldwide attention.And the literature and academic monographs about the First World War were endless.However, not many people knew the flu which brought more military and civilian casualties at the last year of the world war, especially became historian's years of "Slipping through the net of fish".And the flu was almost no mentioned in our history textbooks,only briefly mentioned in the nature of the World History textbooks edited by European and American scholars.The great flu was outbreak near the end of the First World War. Because of many factors mutually intertwined and influenced each other,such as:the epidemic information blockaded;the lack of close and effective co-ordination between countries;the poor of government organization and health care during the period of war;the imperfect of public health system;the collapse and lack of the public services during the wartime;the destroyed ecological environment because of the war and so on,those factors resulted in a large number of casualties and the continually spread of the epidemic.The great influenza was affected by the Great War, and the Great War was interfered by the flu in the last year.This paper attempts to analyze the special history during the the First World War,to re-examine the flu against that background,to reveal the complex factors at the end of the First World War,and to preliminary discuss the complicated interactions between the War and the influenza.I hope we can get some historical enlightenment and warning for later generations.This paper consists of4chapters:Chapter1outlines the environment of war and the outbreak of1918flu.First, introduced the First World War when the1918flu outbreak,especially the serious damage on society and people's lives caused by the war. In this context,a worldwide flu broke out suddenly and push the human to more severe disaster,chapter2analyzes the impact of the War on the1918flu pandemic. The War is a hotbed of breeding ground and spread of the disease.The war brought the rally and mobilize the army and other personnel of the unprecedented flow. And the wartime government and the media hided the epidemic, deceived the public.Thus accelerated the spread of the flu, and increased the flu infection rate and mortality. chapter3analyzes the impact of the1918flu pandemic on the First World War. The influenza consumed the resources of war, blowed their morale, weakened the army's combat effectiveness,which affected the military action and war situation, speed up the arrival of the conference,and also affected the Paris peace conference in the objective of postwar world arrangement.chapter4conclusion.Summing up, war and disease accompanied again, and caused more severe disaster and destruction. Suggesting people should taking history as a mirror to reflect on human behavior, to strengthen the prevention of infectious diseases, to cherish peace, cherish life, care for the environment and build a harmonious society.
