In order to explore the influence of nitrogen fertilizer on turfgrass quality and soil, and to study the species of turfgrass which is suitable for planting in Zhangjiakou city, this study carried out from July to November,2016 in Zhangjiakou Academy of Agricultural Science experiment base to investigate effects of different proportions of fast-release fertilizer and slow-release fertilizer application on turf quality, cold resistance and distribution of soil nitrate nitrogen(NO-3-N).The test set two factors: different turfgrass spicies and different fertilizing ration.Three varieties of turfgrass are F arundinacea,P pratensis and L perenne. The ration of fast-release fertilizer(U)and slow-release fertilizer(S)respectively is 7∶3(A),6∶4(B),5∶5(C),4∶4(D),3∶7(E)and no fertilizer(CK).The results showed that:(1)the growth rate and aboveground biomass of P pratensis were stable among three turfgrass spicies, and other quality indicators were not significant different with other spicies. So P pratensis can reduce the cost of lawn maintenance. And when the ration of U ∶S is 4∶6 and 3∶7,it was helpful to maintain the high quality and reduce the cost of lawn maintenance.(2)Festuca arundinacea was able to absorb and utilize nitrate nitrogen in the soil and reduce the leaching of nitrate nitrogen among three turfgrass spicies, which was the most suitable for reducing the nitrate leaching in the three turfgrass species. With the increase of the proportion of S fertilizer, the nitrate content in 0~40 soil layer increased, and the nitrate nitrogen content in 40~100 soil layer decreased, and the leaching risk decreased.(3)The content of soluble sugar and MDA in P pratensis was increased when the ratio of U and S was 7∶3,and the cold resistance was the strongest.
