Rediscovery - Bromide Salt Process Research

Photography has various means in artistic expressions.Bromoil introduced by thisthesis is a kind of traditional photographic technology.It is a process that bromidesare used to wash away the original image on the photographic paper which is re-colorized later,thus it is an important development in producing images among photographic technologies.This thesis is divided into five chapters to expound the historical developments in bromoil,its process and technology,the significance of researching bromoil in the contemporary context.For domestic photographerstraditional technologies are antique "newborn,"traditional photographic processes as media languages,which we have learned andutilized,does not mean that we "revert to old ways with tendency towards idolizing the ancients,instead of the purpose that being non-conformist and eye-catching,we apply the features of this traditional technology as a media language,with a better expression corresponding to the theme of artwork.As a practitioner,the author wouldlike to share his knowledge with readerswhich is easy to understand and combined with his practical experience,thus hopefully it triggers interests.Through its presentation,this thesis aims to encourage domestic readers to get preliminaryknowledge of bromoil while further introducing it into the researching category of traditional photographic technology in China.
