With the development of social economy and the expansion of city scale, the mismatch phenomenon of resident travel demand and urban space, urban service facilities are becoming intensified,Thus, the traffic problem is becoming more and more serious,For example, the 'residents living in the suburbs produce long-distance commuting due to the separation of the problem job-housing mismatching. It also has a great influence on the travel behavior and the choice of methods. In the previous research on the built environment. However, most of the cases are mainly focus in Beijing,Shanghai and other big cities, the proposed traffic policy or management measures is also in response to the development of large cities.Less attention has been paid to the characteristics of daily commuting activity and travel behavior of medium and small urban residents, and put forward to adapt to the medium and small city travel development strategy.Under this background, this paper takes QuJing as a case study city of Yunnan Province,by focusing on the differences of built environment characteristics between inner city and suburb,to explore the mode and rule of commuter's daily travel behavior choice under different living space.First of all, this paper systematically reviews the domestic and foreign research on the relationship between the built environment and the residents' daily travel behavior choice, and put forward the basic theoretical framework of the interactive relationship among built environment, social economic attributes and residents' travel behavior.Secondly,by using the data of urban population census and the survey data of residents' activity-travel.On the basis of describing the different built environment indexes, this paper analyzes the characteristics of the social and economic attributes of commuters living in the inner city and suburban areas, and the characteristics of commuters' daily travel behavior,Exploring the law of commuter travel choice under different living space,a structural equation is established to explore the causal relationship between urban built environment and commuter travel behavior,to concluded that the choice of commuter travel behavior is influenced by social economic attributes, and the built environment, the social economic attributes and residential location will also have an indirect impact on the residents' behavior choice. Finally, the differences between urban and suburban residents in travel mode, the Logistic regression analysis model is established for the choice of travel mode to analyzes the choice mechanism of commuter traffic mode.Based on the analysis of the daily travel behavior choice and decision mechanism,The conclusions can be used to provide recommendations for differentiated travel demand management policies based on individual or community characteristics. It is of practical significance for the implementation of urban social equity policy and the sustainable development of urban traffic.
