Beamforming is an important component of sonar signal processing,and its performance directly affects the overall performance of the signal processing system.Beamforming technology has a large amount of computing and real-time processing characteristics,so it is necessary to development of high-speed and high-performance beamformer.From the perspective engineering realization,this paper designs and implements a passive sonar beamforming system based on TMS320C6678 muti-core DSP.Firstly,this paper introduces the background knowledge of passive sonar and beamforming,analyes the principle of time domain beamforming and frequency domain beamforming,discusses a multi-beamforming technique based on Chirp Z transform and simulates and validates the algorithm by MATLAB.According to the technical specifications of the project,the overall scheme of the passive sonar beamforming process is given.In order to solve the problem of communication wih the host computer,we debug the PCIe module of TMS320C6678.In order to meet the real-time requirements,a multi-beam CZT based on multi-core DSP to achieve the solution.In the process of data processing,EDMA3 is used to complete the data transposition and data transfer.The large-size one-dimensional FFT is coverted to the small-size two-dimensional FFT calculation,which greatly shortens the data processing time and meet the real-time requirements of the system.In addition,the inter-core communication,Cache coherence and the process of multi-core boot loader are studied.At last,we debug the modules of TMS320C6678,and the result of data processing is compared with the result of MATLAB.The correctness of data is verified.
