Yidong Fengxiong's Architectural Thinking And Architectural Style Research

The Pritzker Prize is the Nobel Prize in the field of architecture. In 2013,Toyo Ito was the si xth Japanese architect awarded the Pritzker Prize, his unique architectural ideas and multi-variant styles constantly refresh people’s views on architecture. Different periods of his architectural sty les are reflecting his exceptional way of thinking under present-day architecture style, with the in consistent, independent and variable style of architectural creation techniques, these are worth le arning and using for reference.This research focus on Toyo Ito, and then feel the poetic beauty of the architecture and study his architectural thoughts and style based on the analysis of the basic structure and data of his architectural works in different period. Following the building background of the times that Toyo Ito in, the article take his attitude towards the society and the changes of his self-psychological in the different periods as reference, and divide Toyo Ito’s architecture into three periods, then deep parsingthe typical architecture in the three times which include the period of Sealed White U House,the period of Open Lightweight Silver Hut, and the period o f Sendai Media Center’s naturally integrated style. With the addition of the deep correlation analysis of the architect’s work at the same time and the influences of popular architecture genre, we further explore the architectural thoughts and style of Toyo Ito. In the insight of architectural connotation of Toyo Ito combined with his architectural thoughts and style, we refer to the presentation of architectural forms(architectural image, building materials, and architectural color), architectural space(the use of traditional plate beams and Domino system innovation),and building ecologic(architecture, people and the environment),then analyze the present situation of the Chinese construction and put forward the improving measures mainly from four aspects which are the specific architectural modeling, the homogeneity of architecture form, the lack of design of architectural space and the lack of ecological architecture system.This article mainly adopts research methods such as a large number of photo illustration, data analysis and comparative analytic characters. On the Conclusion of the construction thought and architectural style of Toyo Ito, and with his architectural thoughts and style for enlightenment, our result provide a theoretical support to create the ideal state as of Chinese architecture in learning his construction technique and self-innovation process.
