Curved Shape And Pioneer - Research On Garment Shape Design

Curvy is a kind of common form in any art design.A long time ago in traditional Chinese culture,there emerged the design concept of "Shang qu",which represents the artistic conception of learning from nature.This philosophy can be seen in anywhere,from the meandering pathways in garden to the folds on the clothing.In western countries,the ancient Greek mathematician Pythagoras put forward the concept that round is the most beautiful pattern in the world.In today's context,natural object forms are used as source of inspiration in the nonlinearity architectural design,so as to create a more flowing curves and dynamic spaces.In this paper,both first and second chapter take the avant-garde fashion designer's work as example,and analyze the manifestation of curve,creation method,design philosophy and so on,in the creative clothing form.The third chapter discusses the new artistic expressive force represented by the emerging technology,namely,3D printing and laser engraving.Both of them greatly enriched the form of curves on clothing.The fourth chapter is mainly talking about the author's design practices on how to use the "curvy" which comes from nature.By constantly trying new materials and different kinds of cutting process,and comparing and analyzing the international well-known colleges and universities student's experimental work,the author contributes to the development of fresh elements in costume design.
