Clothing art always pursue newness of style change,modern apparel is polybasic day by day and style varies rapidly,but there is always some unchanged elements been kept which is afford for thought and become classics in people's mind.These classic design works can bear the test of time,although time changes and style changes,but the esthetical touching in people's heart never fading charms.What this paper intend to explore is which kind of feature and factors could make some classic costume design withstand the test of time,as well as cross the aesthetic change of different times,and bridge different culture background,finally pleasure people.Beauty lasts,why classic costume beauty could last for such a long time,what create the classic?Study classic is to study fashion;classic is different with reminiscence,classic should be closely related to times,it should also withstand aesthetic change for more than one time,in consideration of such phenomenon,several questions are raised:what is the classic element?How do classic elements formed in the design of women's wear?What are the features of the design of classic women's wear?How does design of classic women's wear keep developing?This paper takes design of Dior "new style and features" high class fashion for example,which is called model of fashion design arts and technology combination,to study its design and explore how does costume design of modem society make use of classic elements.It is processed from the generating time background of "new style and features",to analyze its design inspiration,artistic characteristics and times characteristics.This paper is divided into 4 sections.The first section narrates studying background,studying status and the methods for studying this topic.The second section mainly discusses generating of classic women's wearing;proceed from the concept and character of classic women's wearing,analyzing the meaning of existing of classic women's wearing.The third section mainly expounds application of classic elements in design of women's wearing,using illustrations from the aspects of human body proportion,garment structure,color application,material selection to analyze application of classic elements in design of women's wearing,how to become a classic works.The forth section analyzes from the value perspective of classic women's wearing,analyzes aesthetic value,commercial value and culture value of classic women's wearing.Finally get the conclusion that existence of each classic design is the production of the age,it can't be separated from public aesthetic and people's dressing requirement in the developing society.Finally,through to the contemporary designer luxury little black dress,analysis of the classic elements in the application of the modern women's clothing design.Constitution elements of the classic women's wearing are summarized by categories through studies on it.Classic elements,design method and fashion style are connected in series in this paper and their correlations of the three are dialectically analyzed,thus summarizing the regularity of this design thought,refining characters and application method of classic elements,to provide a specific specialty support to future development of fashion design.
