A Comparative Study Of Chinese-Korean Coffee Culture

With the development of world economic and in-depth intercultural exchanges, coffee become more common and accepted by the people than the traditional drinking tea. The process that people understanding the development from tea to coffee is rightly the process of tea culture transforming into the modern coffee culture. Under the background of the coffee market worldwide, this paper mainly explores the similarities and differences of coffee industry between China and South Korea. This paper mainly discusses the similarities and differences between China and South Korea coffee culture: there is an obvious growth in the number of coffee shop and the use of the coffee machine in China and South Korea; the development of China's current coffee market potential is tremendous. Coffee market in China will continue to expand, and in the next 10 years will enter a rapid growth time. After ten years,China will become one of the largest coffee sales countries in the world. While South Korea figures in a multi-formed coffee market, and the coffee system is more mature than China. According to the current trend, South Korea's coffee market will continue to grow in the future, but restricted by such factors as the domestic market is becoming saturated, South Korea's coffee industry will invest in the huge potential Chinese market, which will produce further communication in coffee culture between China and South Korea. There are similarities and also differences between Chinese and the South Korean coffee culture. Because of the influence of the Korean wave, South Korea's coffee culture in some aspects has some impacts in the development of Chinese coffee culture.
