Nowadays, with the development of human technology, the utilization of natural resources is getting seriously, and consequent pollution problem has become increasingly serious. How to choose a reasonable and efficient technique for environmental monitoring and protection has become the focus of attention of the whole society. Most traditional environmental monitoring system led to monitor the existence of high cost, long cycle, and the data was not real-time feedback and other shortcomings. Wireless sensor network technology is the cross-cutting areas of microelectronics, sensor technology, wireless communication technology, rely on virtue of its wide range of monitoring, convenient arrangement, low cost, high precision data acquisition, gradually turning from a single military application of intelligent transportation, medical monitoring, intelligent home, environmental monitoring. Wireless sensor network technology provides a new way of thinking for us to establish an environmental monitoring system.This study has designed a set of environmental monitoring systems based on wireless sensor network technology, research summary the applications of wireless sensor network in various fields, construction of the overall structure for environmental monitoring system was based WSN, focuses on several key technologies of wireless sensor network application in environmental monitoring. Design of the entire system was divided into WSN node hardware design, WSN key technology research and WSN development of three parts. WSN node hardware used three-tier board structure, select the CC2430 as the processor module. Key Technology of WSN was based on ant colony optimization algorithm clustering routing structure, improved the time synchronization mechanism, designed the localization algorithm, and fusion processed the dates use the BP neural network. WSN key technologies under a unified routing protocol based on the actual needs of environmental monitoring, optimization and improved WSN support technology that interrelation, reduced energy consumption and improved the accuracy of data collection, to extend the network lifetime. Software part mainly to develop the WSN node monitoring program, the function module of the corresponding, and compiled a PC monitoring software interface is based on C# development language, within a real-time monitoring of regional environmental change.We have simulation analyzed the performances of various algorithms of the designs in this paper, routing protocol, data fusion algorithm, node localization algorithm etc. generally meet the expectations that we have designed. Finally, testing the wireless sensor network node networking in the laboratory, the results of the test shown that the system was functions reliable, data acquisition accurately, and the system can achieve design goals basically, with a certain degree of application prospects.
