The Effect Of Multinational Companies’ R&D Investment On The Innovation Of Chinese High-tech Industry

As the global economic integration,multinational corporation R&D investment is also presents obvious globalization trend.In nearly three decades,China with remarkable achievements in the economic development,has attracted more and more respectable enterprises to set up R&D centers here,to carry out high quality technology research and development activities,but meanwhile the multinational companies also bring a more complicated competition market environment.This article firstly reviews the “promote theory”,“compromise” and “invalid” and “inhibition theory” literature review from domestic and abroad of multinational corporation R&D investment on the innovation impact in the host country enterprise,From the number,personnel quality,strategic status,R&D spending to analyze the development of multinational companies R&D institutions,and point out to expand market share,the use of local talent,support local production is the motivation of multinational companies to set up R&D center in China.Because the high technology industry is one of the most multinational corporations R&D resources in China,so this article applied Multinational Corporation R&D investment globalization theory system to high technology industry research.In empirical analysis,use China’s high technology industry from 2009 to 2014 by the five major industry panel data,the high technology industry provided the company’s scientific research person as the main explanatory variables of the model,the local high technology industry in our country is interpreted as a model of innovation output variables,to analysis of multinational corporation R&D investment of local high-tech industry innovation level.Using mixed effect model and fixed effect model respectively for the two models for empirical research,the results showed that the increase of the foreign capital enterprise R&D person,innovation of domestic enterprises played a significant demonstration effect and the spillover effect.High duty-cycle foreign products market don’t have a brake on technology innovation of domestic enterprises,it stimulated the innovation of the domestic enterprises demand.In addition,under the condition of the increasingly fierce market competition,domestic enterprise increased R&D investment and expand the scale of the scientific research personnel,enterprise innovation ability also got obvious improvement in recent years.Finally,the article give some suggestion that the correct use of foreign R&D resources for promoting domestic enterprise independent innovation ability: put forward to further encourage multinational companies to set up research and development institutions,improve the domestic enterprises technological learning and absorbing ability,establish good introduction of scientific research personnel system.
