In recent years, with the continual deepening reform of foreign trade system in China and the accelerating trend of economic globalization, the state-owned foreign trade enterprises are facing a significant change in the surrounding environment and the strategic transformation of enterprises is also more and more urgent. This study analyzes the fundamental theories and methods that should be followed in the strategic transformation of state-owned foreign trade enterprises. Under such circumstances, concerning the current situation of domestic state-owned foreign trade enterprises, this study puts forward several models which can be used in the strategic transformation, including the professional service supplier model, the industrialization model, General Commercial Groups model, transnational corporation model and so on. And then a further adaptability comparison among these models has carried out. Moreover, the benchmarking analysis of severa famous enterprises such as Li & Fung Ltd and One Touch provides valuable references to the strategic transformation of state-owned foreign trade enterprises.This study chooses S Textile Import and Export Company as the research object, and then carries out the SWOT analysis of the internal and external environment of S company, so to find out its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the competition. Later, a comprehensive analysis of various environmental factors is carried out to figure out optional countermeasures of future development of the company. To sum up, S is expected to get rid of the position of the "price competitor" in the foreign trade, and re-position itself to the "service competitor" even the “value competitor” in the textile and garment supply chain. Furthermore, it is also essential for S company to take a lead in the establishment and improvement of a supply chain service platform as well as the development of the ecosystem.in the textile and garment supply chain, leading to the win-win result and better coordination.Overall, through the investigation of the problems related to the survival and future development of the typical traditional state-owned foreign trade enterprises while facing rapid changes in the external environment, and study on the corresponding adjustment and reform of related enterprises, this study explores effective methods of accelerating the process of strategic transformation and business reform, as well as gives valuable suggestions to specific strategies that can be adopted in the strategic transformation and reform of domestic state-owned foreign trade enterprises...
