Current Situation Analysis And Strategies Of Rural Commodity Circulation In Shanxi Province

Since the Chinese Economic Reform in 1978, China has made considerable development in rural market and commodity circulation system. All this helped to establish a strong foundation for the national economy to being a sustained and rapid growth and they resulted in an increasing number of farmers' abandonment of traditional consumption. We had deeply understood of the importance of rural commodity circulation in the development of socialist market economy and the process of promoting the modernization of national circulation.However, the degree of modernization of commodity circulation is slight in the majority of rural areas in Shanxi province and the commodity circulation mode in rural market does not change radically. In view of this fact, we made clear the status of rural commodity circulation in Shanxi Province, analyzed the problems existing in it and pondered deeply over the strategies to enhance the development of it based on the actual situation of Shanxi Province. We conducted the research using methods of field investigation and theoretical analysis after making clear the meaning of rural commodity circulation.Although the diversity of market subject has been achieved, the level of organization of rural commodity circulation subject is still low. The informationize degree is low because of the hysteresis of infrastructure construction in rural. The rural commodity circulation is high cost and low efficiency because it is still in traditional and obsolete stage. The circulation service system has been initially formed, but it has not yet been a mature, harmonious, unified and efficient network and its service function is weak. The research suggests that all these are the primary problems underlying the rural commodity circulation.In order to accelerate the progress of rural commodity circulation in Shanxi Province, we worked out several strategies, such as bringing up circulation subject including large circulation enterprise groups, supply and marketing cooperatives and farmers agent actively, improving its degree of organization, encouraging the development of information by completing the construction of infrastructure facilities and applying new technologies, opening innovative managerial model, focusing on the improvement of emerging industries, perfecting the rural commodity circulation market system and improving the fusion degree of distribution channels.In this research, we proposed specific and adaptive suggestions relating to a wide range of problems to help the development of rural commodity circulation on the basis of field investigation in Shanxi Province. They would provide a certain reference for the development of rural commodity circulation in Shanxi Province in the future.
