Jiang Yiwei is one of the pioneers of economic study and a practitioner of economic study since The People's Republic of China was founded. For his rich enterprise management experiences, good knowledge of Marxist economic theory, the socialism faith and his pure heart, although not the mainstream, his economic thoughts still have special significance on our economic reform and enterprise management study. The present academic research on Jiang Yiwei economic thought is less and fragmented. Here, starting from enterprise quality, attempts to study systematically Jiang Yiwei's related economic thoughts. Based on the related words in Jiang Yiwei works, here separates Jiang Yiwei's state-owned enterprise quality thoughts into two parts:enterprise quality definition and how to improve the quality of the enterprise, and then concludes the thoughts' characteristics. The first part discusses Jiang Yiwei's related research on enterprise quality definition, structure and performance; the second part then, discusses Jiang Yiwei's thoughts on methods of improving enterprise quality, such as developing commodity economy, separating the government and the enterprise capital operation and others about macro-economic and micro-economic system reform. Further, comparing the thoughts with enterprise competitiveness, find out their differences in meaning and developing measures, to clarify the content and characteristics of Jiang Yiwei enterprise quality thoughts. After those, mine the modern revelations. Though some not having realistic operability, his thoughts do have positive meaning on academic research, and on our state-owned enterprises competitiveness valuation and reform.
