Study On Development Strategy Of Chinese Yam Industrialization In Mingxi County,Fujian Province

Chinese yam (Dioscorea polystachya) is a traditional plant in Mingxi County Fujian province with a long cultivated history. It is one of the main finance source with the dual characteristic of medicine and edible, and with grateful economic value and rich in eutrophy. Yam industry is becoming the featured agriculture gradually, and has turned into the significant way of developing modern agriculture in Mingxi County.This article conducted the further investigation of the planting, process, sale and transportation of yam and so forth, during its development in Mingxi. In addition, the history of yam industrial development, the advantage and obstacle factors were detailedly analyzed. Moreover, we dissected the development of agriculture industrialization all over the world and used their experiences of industrialization development. And then we presented the relevant countermeasures and suggestion of yam industrial development under considering the condition of combining the environment Mingxi County. The results demonstrated that there are many obstacle factors, for instance, low level of production equipment, lack of brand building and personnel training, insufficient in network utilization and finance support, weak intensity in deep processing, poor transport, weak power of leading enterprises to promote and so on.Fortunately, there are many unique characteristics of Mingxi County in the processing of development of Chinese yam industrial, such as the soil condition, cultivars of Chinese yam, popularize of planting technology, in place planting service, introducing of new processors and expanding of distribution way etc.In all, the countermeasures and. suggestions of promoting Chinese yam industrialization in Mingxi as follows:(1) Cultivation mechanization, production specialization, socialization of service and marketing diversification are important ways to develop yam industrialization. (2) To take into consider development models of modern agricultural company, which merge enterprises, farmers, scientific research and market into integration development. (3) To strengthen cultivation standardization on industrialization of Chinese yam, and to deepen the development and research of processing and health food on yam, and to diversify the development and strengthen the resilience of market risk of yam industry. (4) To promote brand image of Chinese yam of Mingxi under the concern and support from government, leading enterprises and the people from all walks of life.
