| With the deepening of international trade cooperation and regional economic interaction, port trade based on container shipping develops rapidly. The throughput of port container is rising so much which lead to a long-term pressure and an increasing operating costs for the port. Simultaneously, delays and defects of information cause higher costs to those third-party logistics companies in ports.One of the key aspects to reduce inventory and lower costs for port and logistics is about how to make the right container distribution plan based on the arrival time of container ship. Plan should make sure that a certain quantity cargo can be accurate delivery to right customers at the right time with good quality. Therefore, this paper introduces JIT into port container logistics shipping operations from the viewpoint of port managers and third-party logistics companies.Firstly, we identify the main problems against the background of study. A summarize is given to researches about JIT distribution and port container distribution. On the basis of summarize, we identify the research object, contents and ideas of this paper. We analyze the applicability of JIT production model and demonstrate its advantages in container port logistics. Meanwhile, LCL(less than container load) vehicle scheduling problem is abstracted to vehicle scheduling problem with time window constraints. Secondly, we discern the factors which will affect LCL container distribution through the analyzing of whole port container distribution workflow. The study is to make maximum overall satisfaction from the viewpoints of port managers and third-party logistics companies. We conduct a vehicle scheduling model with time window constraints which is aim to minimum operating costs and delay. Model is based on the analysis of factors in LCL distribution and need of vehicle scheduling by JIT. Customers are different to ports and logistics companies in level of importance. We introduce the differences and consider constraints by ports and customers and distribution process when modeling. Therefore, the model can not only describe the actual distribution but also ensure the practical significance of scheduling scheme. Lastly, genetic algorithm is used to solve the model. We design the genetic algorithm process of vehicle scheduling model and ensure excellent resistance of the solution by taking elitism and improving fitness function. The case study examines the effectiveness of the model and algorithm.Research on port LCL vehicle scheduling for JIT distribution is useful to develop a scientific and efficient scheduling scheme of practical significance. |
