The 21 st century is the age of knowledge economy, the knowledge-based enterprises are the important undertakers of knowledge economy, and the knowledge workers are the core resources of knowledge-based enterprise. The knowledge workers act as the carrier of knowledge, and there are many significant differences between traditional workers and knowledge workers. On the one hand, they usually have a variety of knowledge and skills, so they can be qualified for diverse tasks. On the other hand, they have much dependence in the work with pursuing their personal knowledge's enlarging. In task allocation, managers not only need to consider the features of tasks, but also the features of knowledge workers. That how to make a reasonable task allocation not only means pursuing the interests of the enterprise, at the same time, meeting the needs of knowledge workers. It's also one of the main problems to be solved for modern enterprises. So, in this paper the task allocation of knowledge workers is researched. The main research work is as follows.(1) The definitions of knowledge worker at home and abroad are summarized, and the differences between the knowledge workers and traditional workers are analyzed. The operation process of knowledge workers is studied, and it is found that knowledge workers call their own knowledge points to complete the task in the task completion process. The task allocation of knowledge workers is proposed, which is based on knowledge points. To express the knowledge structures of knowledge workers and tasks, the knowledge network is built which is based on knowledge points.(2) A task allocation method based on the worker-task knowledge similarity is proposed. The concept of worker-task knowledge similarity is defined. The calculation process of worker-task knowledge similarity is studied, and the calculating formula is given while the related parameters are determined. On the basis of this, a task allocation model, which is based on the worker-task knowledge similarity, is constructed, and the model is solved by using MATLAB programming.(3) A new task allocation idea is proposed, which is based on the knowledge learning amount. The effect of workers' knowledge amount on the task completion time is analyzed. The influencing factors of knowledge learning time are studied, and the method of establishing knowledge learning time function is studied. On this basis, a task allocation model is constructed, which is based on the knowledge learning amount, and the solving process of the corresponding parameters in the model is given. Finally, in the MATLAB environment, the multi stage task allocation model which is based on knowledge learning amount is solved, and the results are obtained.(4) The research results have been applied. Through two examples, it proves that the methods and ideas presented in this paper are feasible.
