In the current tide of economic globalization and liberalization, trade on financial services has been one of the most important influencing factors on the economic development and global status of a country, mainly in a way of influencing a country's global competitiveness. This dissertation studies the global competitiveness of China's trade on financial services by search methods and significance, a literature review, a theoretical foundation and a system of indicators, thus regressively analyzing its major influencing factors. Finally, suggestions and measures which enable the improvement of global competitiveness of China's trade on financial services are proposed in a background of modern global environment and China's unique national conditions.The dissertation firstly introduces the reason of topic, significances, main means and the structure. Next, a literature review on global and China's trade on financial services is made, among which includes the definitions of important concepts and the analysis and conclusions of Chinese and foreign scholars on this topic by using related indicators. Then, a detailed introduction of theoretical foundation, namely, the Michael Porter diamond Model, is followed. It analyzes the current condition of China's trade on financial services through four internal factors, namely, productive factors (capital, human and technology), demand, supportive industries, and company organizational strategy, and two external factors, namely, government and opportunity. After that, follows an explanation of indicator selective basis. Two static indicators (Revealed Comparative Advantage Index, or RCA, and Trade Competitiveness Index, or TC) and one dynamic indicator (International Market Share, or MS) are selected. A data comparison with America, UK, Germany, and Japan is made accordingly. Finally, the regression analysis and policy suggestions are given. The conclusion of this dissertation is that although China's trade on financial services is in a weak position among global competition, its general trend is improving with some fluctuations.
