The cross-regional globalization leads to a more close and complicated con nection between countries.With the deepening of global economic integration,i nternational environment is pushed to take on a new landscape and each nation al state is promoted to shoulder common responsibility and risks.Globalization is interconnected,dependable,cross-regional,liquid and features some other cha racteristics,which affects the authority of national sovereignty,impacts the trad itional concept of territory,speeds up the international flow of population and i mplements the restrictions on government power.National states,as the basic u nits that constitute world system,are deeply influenced by this objective histori cal process globalization.The paper focuses on four basic elements: sovereignty,territory,population and government,construction and improvement of national states.By analysingt he development of globalization and the main performance of national states in fluenced by globalization,the paper combs through and concludes main implica tions of globalization on Chinese nation building;and correspondent measuresar e expounded.The paper argues that the influence of globalization on Chinese nation building should be analysed based on specific background and national conditions.Autonomy and limitation is the premise of China's national sovereignty tran sfer and assignment.The identity of Chinese nation is still recognised as the i deological foundation of New Territories.The population flow in China remains to enlarge gradually,but the imbalance that exists in the population structure can be addressed by improving relevant policies.Globalization requires that go vernmental function construction should not only based on domestic benefits but also on international community.
