Project Management Research Of Design Enterprise

The operation of petroleum engineering design industry is thought to have always been project-based and integrated with advanced theories and concepts in project management. However, it is not in actual fact strictly followed the regarding guidelines as requested in project management. After being a member of WTO, the domestic design industry is going to inevitably face the challenges with other competitors from around the world. In order to strengthen own foundation and be able to participate in overseas petroleum engineering construction in the coming future, the design industries should start to adjust and improve its organization and structure so as to be compatible with the nature of other international peer industries: aiming for a comprehensive project management system that meet international standard together with the enhanced competencies.The detailed discussion and analysis in the paper will be based on project management theories, taking ISO 10006 as the main reference, as well as authors' relevant working experiences. First, the main theories and concepts in project management will be illustrated: the overall project structure, responsibilities, management methods, and further discussion with regard to the actual implementation of project management approach in relevant petroleum engineering design industries. Secondly, real cases of domestic petroleum industries will be introduced and discussed in terms of their project management operation, learn from successful experiences and look more into the challenges and difficulties that are facing, such as the issues in organization, management and progress control and etc. Thirdly, suggested solutions to handle current issues and challenges in implementation of project management in the field of petroleum engineering design will be explained, especially in the aspects of project progress management and quality control. Lastly, the argument comes to the conclusion that utilize contemporary project management system in development of petroleum design industry to enhance its ultimate standard, enabling investors and petroleum design industries to achieve better collaboration and win-win in the future.
