Research To The Influential Factors Of Shanghai Port Logistics Competitiveness

As international trade develops, the function of harbor becomes plentiful, at the same time, the radiation ability of port logistics to logistics activities nearby receives more attention. Under such background that competition between port becomes more intense, the center city has to improve its competitiveness. This paper sees port logistics competitiveness as the ability to attract freight flow and resources. The search starts with diamond model from the two aspects and finds out some factors based on previous studies. All factors are analyzed both qualitatively factors and quantitatively. Quantitative factors are evaluated by factor analysis to find out main factors influential to port logistics competition. As a result, four factors are summarized, they are port logistics transportation ability, port logistics operational efficiency, environmental conditions of the port logistics and port logistics comprehensive service quality. At last, this paper studies the specific case of Shanghai port, analyzes its advantages as well as disadvantages and arrives at some suggestions to improve the competitiveness of Shanghai harbor.
