In recent years, China's trade with its partner has grown continuously. This contributes a lot to the country's GDP growth, at the same time it brings some problems. When China provides the goods to other countries, it has a large amount of carbon dioxide emission, namely embodied carbon emission. So the developed countries accuse China of it. Right now China is under big pressure of emission reduction urged by developed countries. This paper uses input-out model to calculate the amount of embodied carbon emission caused by trade between China and Korea, and uses index decomposition analysis and structural decomposition analysis respectively to analyse the effective factor.First, the paper introduces the definition of embodied carbon and related theory, then uses input-output model to calculation trade carbon emission between China and Korea during 12 years from 2000 to 2011. The conclusion is that the trade increase 138 Mt CO2 of China in 2000,507 Mt CO2 in 2011, and increase 12Mt CO2 of Korea in 2000,45 Mt CO2 in 2011. In fact, China got net export of 126 Mt CO2 in 2000 and 442 Mt CO2 in 2011. This goes against the emission reduction goal of China. In the mean time, the trend between carbon dioxide emission and trade in China and Korea is same.Second, the paper uses index decomposition.analysis and structural decomposition analysis separately to analyse the data, and gets the conclusion:the scale effect and structure effect is positive, that is the increasing trade volume and structure change have positive influence on emission increase; technical effect is negative, that is new technology has negative influence on emission increase;total effect is positive, this means scale effect is the key factor on emission increase. Then compares the difference of these two methods.Last, the paper gives some suggestion of China emission reduction based on the conclusion.
