Research On Development Strategy Of Sea-Island Cotton For The Second Regiment Of Xinjiang Corps

The second regiment of first division of Xinjiang production and construction corp is located in the southern of Shajinzi of Hara Tieke Mountain in Southern Xinjiang Tianshan Branch. It abounds in cotton and has plentiful light, heat and water resources, which is not only one the few areas that can plant sea-island cotton, but also the largest regiment for sea-island cotton planting in production and construction corp. The perennial cultivated area of sea-island cotton accounts 80% of first division and 50%of corp. The sea-island cotton of second regiment has a long history and has become important safeguard on economic development, extension of agricultural industry chain and increase of employee income of the second regiment through many years of development. The paper implements SWOT analysis (SWOT analysis means strengths, weaknesses,opportunities, threats, the same below) on sea-island cotton development status and production of second regiment of the first agriculture division through literature review, field investigation and study, interview and investigation, data analysis and other methods. The basic results are as follows:1.The second regiment is one of areas that was firstly try to plant sea-island cotton in Xinjiang. With advantaged geographical conditions, adequate light and heat, convenient irrigation, high quality of personnel and increasing progress and development of technology, it has formed a mature production mode.2.The sea-island cotton that was planted by the second regiment has high quality, and the species are updated quickly. The second regiment also has strong scientific manpower and organization and management in place, the output of sea-island cotton has been improved and its planting area has become more steady. But in recent years, the cotton production has been improved slightly, and single planting technology, increasingly serious plant diseases and insect pests, slow mechanization process, continuing increase in the cost have caused continuous reduction of cotton planting area. Therefore, we should seize the support of national industrial adjustment and policy to implement industrial structure adjustment, overcome the threat of weather anomalies, water shortage, labor shortage and other factors, so as to stabilize the planting area and achieve sustainable development.3.In view of the current situation of sea-island cotton of second regiment, specific measures are as follows:transform farming mode, strengthen pest control, improve and fertilize soil, accelerate the integration of production, learning and research, accelerate the process of mechanization, improve cotton production efficiency, and prolong the cotton industry chain, stabilize industry system, develop production orders.With the application of science and planting technology and the improvement of ecological environment, and the formation of the industry chain on "gradually oriented cultivation→processing→sales transportation", the improvement and adjustment of the national policy, the planting and development of sea-island cotton in the second regiment area will usher in new opportunities for take-off.
