Synthetic aperture radar(SAR)is the modern high-resolution microwave side-looking imaging radar for all-weather and all-time condition,which occupies an absolutely important position in imaging radar.It has a wide range of application prospect and development potential.Synthetic aperture radar(SAR)uses smaller size of the real antenna aperture to synthesize a larger equivalent antenna aperture through data processing method.SAR utilizes the Doppler frequency shift producing by the relative motion between radar and target to improve azimuth resolution,and adopts wide bandwidth signal to achieve high range resolution.Starting from two algorithms of SAR imaging,this paper demonstrated the signal processing flow of imaging using range Doppler algorithm(RDA)and chirp scaling algorithm(CSA)successively.Then it carried out the realization of imaging simulation of RDA and CSA based on three point target imaging,and designed the imaging presentation software with MATLAB GUI.After that,the paper analyzed and compared the image quality of point target imaging results for different SAR imaging algorithms with the same target information and radar parameters.In the end of third chapter,it illustrated that measured echo data of RADARSAT realized imaging by using CSA,and introduced details which should be paid attention during the process of measured SAR echo data processing.For the design of SAR system,parameter selection is the section that needs many aspects of consideration.Starting with the task objectives of the SAR system,this paper analyzed resolution,antenna,pulse repetition frequency(PRF),minimum transmitting power and the selection of the relevant parameters.Furthermore,the designed software of SAR system parameter design greatly simplified the work that needs to be carried out in the SAR system.
