With the rapid development of information technology,all kinds of services and applications emerge in endlessly.As the most popular instant messaging client based on P2 P technology,in addition to the traditional voice service,Skype can also provide file transfer,voice mail,video calls,simultaneous translation and other functions.Skype's high quality of call service and secure communication mechanism make it with hundreds of millions of users,greatly impacting the traditional telecom market.However,the dynamic nature of the Skype network and the large-scale of the Skype users also bring management difficulties,network bandwidth devouring and many other issues.Therefore,the accurate identification of Skype network traffic can make us understand the current situation of network and optimize the network performance;and it can also help us predict the trend of network operation in the further,effectively guiding the future network planning and management.According to the national project of information security,this dissertation aims to develop an effective system of Skype application flows identification.Based on the reanalysis of Skype protocol,this paper targets Skype communication mechanism and application features as the main research object,and put forward a Skype traffic identification method based on sequence feature,trying to achieve the best control effect of Skype network traffic.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Skype application protocol analysis.Considering the Skype has experienced several versions of the change since its birth,and with the continuous development of Skype technology,the Skype protocol versions have been updated continuously,and its communication mechanism has also been greatly changed,many of the early study of Skype is no longer valid.This paper carries on a thorough study of the network architecture of Skype,makes a detailed analysis of the Skype's communication mechanism under different contexts,summarizes and introduces the communication features of Skype from the port characteristics,load characteristics,protocol characteristics etc.(2)The discovery of Skype network traffic characteristics.Through the detailed study of the Skype protocol,it is found that some of the load information of the UDP packet has some inherent laws.In order to find the robust and unique characteristics of Skype application traffic,this paper designs an efficient packet characteristics automatic construction system,and elaborates the design principle and logical form of the system.Than through the association mining and data clustering of collected Skype flows,This system can generate the specific sequence load characteristics of Skype.(3)The realization of Skype traffic identification based on sequence characteristics.Using the unique and effective sequence characteristics generated by the packet characteristics automatic construction system,and combining with the analysis of Skype communication mechanism,this paper proposes a Skype traffic identification method based on sequence characteristics,elaborates the principle and process of identification.Finally,the performance of the designed system is evaluated by experiments.Compared with other identification methods can see that this proposed method has a good effect on the identification of Skype network traffic.
