With the rapid developmentment of modern communication, the deployment of 4G communication has been basically completed. However, the demand for the development of high-performance transmission communication systems is still very urgent. In order to meet the rapid growth of user demand and the requirements for high data rate transmission, the new generation of 5G communication has emerged.Because of its high integration, high performance, low loss, and richer spectrum resources, microwave millimeter-wave technology is attracting more and more attention from researchers. It has also become a core technology of 5G communication in the future. In consideration of the fact that millimeter wave has large space failure, low transmission efficiency, and the problem of sharing the same antenna in multi-frequency(or dual-frequency)system,this paper mainly studies the millimeter wave dual-band scanning antenna.Multibeam technology is utilized to improve the gain of the antenna and reduce the impact of space loss.In addition, the dual frequency performance has been realized in this paper, and main contents of this paper are summarized in the following aspects:Firstly, the structural equivalence theory of substrate integrated waveguide, the working mode of scanning array formed by linear array and planar array, and the theoretical structure of multibeam feed network are briefly summarized, which is the theoretical supports of this article.Secondly,a dual-band multibeam antenna fed by a dual-band 4?4 Butler matrix is proposed. And a novel dual-band SIW slot antenna array with transitional waveguide structure is proposed. The simulation and test prove that the multi-beam antenna can operate in two different frequency bands, and can achieve four-beam scanning. It can be used as the terminal antenna of future 5G multi-frequency system. Then,a two-dimensional scanning multibeam antenna is designed. In the design,a2?2 plane array is proposed by combining four dual-band cavity-backed slot antennas. The feed network of the multi-beam antenna is a dual-frequency 4?4 matrix network consisting of four H-plane-3dB directional couplers.Compared with the one-dimensional scanning antenna, the scanning range and flexibility of the two-dimensional scanning antenna have been improved. Finally,an improved dual-band multibeam antenna is proposed. It is realized by a new type of single-layer dual-band 4 ? 4 Butler matrix combined with a dual-band cavity-backed antenna array.Through the simulation of the entire multi-beam antenna,it is found that the overall effect of dual-band operation is not good,so it needs further improvement.
