In radar,electronic-warfare,aerospace systems,dual-polarization antenna hasbeen widely used. It can emit two different polarization signals on the same frequency,which saved the frequency resource and doubled the band utilization rate.Dual-polarization planar array in millimeter-wave band mainly uses micro-stripantenna and waveguide slot antenna, but in millimeter-wave band, micro-stripantenna has larger loss and lower radiation efficiency than waveguide slot antenna. Inorder to satisfy the need of multi-polarization system, we used wave-guide slotantenna to design dual-polarization antenna on millimeter wave band in this paper.First of all, we briefly introduce the research background, the basic theoryand the design methods of the wave-guide slot, and analyzed the theory of the novelsingle-ridge waveguide ridge side V-shape slot, which has low cross-polarization.According to the need of multi-polarization system, we determined array layout,the two different polarization units are single-ridge waveguide ridge side V-shape slotand single-ridge waveguide longitudinal slot,based on the different mutual couplingin the different position of the array, we used the EM simulation software to set updifferent simulation models to extract the parameter of slots. In the design we alsoused the method that to diffusion the long linear array into short ones, so that toweak the long-line effect. According to the energy distribution of the array,a feedingnet made by single-ridge waveguide is also proposed in this paper. The total structureof the antenna is made by diffusion layer bonding technique. The antenna ismanufactured and measured.Traditional slot array has the disadvantages of narrow working band, and twopolarization don`t share the common caliber, in which the full-corporate arraydoesn`t have. In this paper we first analyzed the basic theory of the full-corporatearray, after that get an optimized2×4units sub-array on the Ka-band. In the samerestriction area in Chapter3. We designed an16×16units array, thesimulation results shows that the full-corporate feed dual-polarization waveguideslot array has wider VSWR and1dB-Gain bandwidth than the traditional series feddual-polarization waveguide slot array.
