RF receiver front-end is an important component of millimeter wave circuit and system,which has a decisive impact on the performance of the system.With the widely application of millimeter wave technology in modern military and communication,W-band receiver front-end will become the focus of development.Researchers pay more attention on the miniaturization,high integration and low cost of microwave circuit,these researches has become the hot orientation.Moreover,miniaturized and high integrated RF receiver front-end is of great significant to the millimeter system.so this thesis will focus on W band miniaturized and high integrated receiver front-endFirstly,according to the requirements of project and practical application requirements,the receiver front-end in this thesis is implemented by hybrid integrated circuit based on super heterodyne structure.as for the feasibility study of the scheme,theoretical analysis and indicator distribution are taken into accurate consideration to verify feasibility and ensure the link normally.Then,theoretical analysis and some design about passive circuit and active circuit are finished,including transition structure,filter,detector,low noise amplifier with power modulation and frequency multiplier link.The W band E plane fin line bandpass filter and the U band detector are manufactured and tested.The test results show that the return loss of W band fin line filter is better than 12dB and the insert loss is lower than 1.1 dB during 92GHz-96GHz,which lays the foundation of W band integrated receiver front-end.The sensitivity of the detection voltage in 45GHz-60GHz is higher than 3200mV/mW,and the tangent sensitivity is about-53dBm while the video bandwidth is 1.2kHz.The modulation circuit is added to the power source in order to control the front-end by adjusting the first order grid voltage of low noise amplifier using TTL signal.At last,after the fabrication,assembly and test of W band integrated front-end,the research work is finished successfully.Great strides have been made in miniaturization and high integration,the overall size is only 64 ×19 × 19 mm3.The test results of W band integrated front-end show that:the rise time of the output signal waveform under TTL level control is about 152.8ns,and the decrease time is about 55.2ns,and the waveform is flat,which completely satisfies the system index.The receive gain is about 13dB and the noise figure is about 3.1dB during 92GHz-96GHz.Overall performance is good.
