In recent years,electromagnetic reverberation chamber is widely used in various fields of electromagnetic measurement.Among them,the measurement of material absorption cross section is a scientific and innovative research.Absorption Cross Section(ACS),as an important parameter to characterize the electromagnetic properties of materials,reflects the ability of materials to absorb electromagnetic waves and provides guidance for the design and application of microwave absorbing materials.It has a certain relevance with indoor wireless channel modeling,human exposure safety research and electromagnetic compatibility as well.In modern metrology,the study of basic physics constants,reference materials,material properties and other related theories and measurement methods as well as the study of measurement uncertainty and experimental error are two important research directions.The parameter of absorption cross section needs to be consistent and accurate as well.Therefore,it is important to study the factors that affect the results of absorption cross section and to evaluate the uncertainty of the measurement results.In this paper,a measurement system based on electromagnetic reverberation chamber and network analyzer is built,the research on absorption cross section is studied in more depth.Based on the basic theory and measuring method of absorption cross section,this paper analyzes the factors that influence the measurement results of absorption cross section and evaluates the uncertainty of ACS calculation results in time domain.The results show that in this experimental system,the uncertainty of the results of time domain ACS measurement is about 0.09dB,which is below the level of uncertainty given in the literature.In addition,this paper measures the absorption cross section of some commonly used absorbing materials,and carries out a more in-depth analysis based on the properties of absorbing materials.Some important conclusions are given.Finally,the paper investigates the measurement of Scattering Cross Section(SCS)in the electromagnetic reverberation chamber,and gives some comments and suggestions according to the existing research results.
