The research on terahertz target scattering characteristics and radar standardtarget cross section including two aspects:1. Research on terahertz scatteringcharacteristics of known target.2. Research on radar cross section of standard target.The article is summarized as follows:1.The writer launch theoretical researchonterahertz wave and use the theory ofQuantum Optics to make a theoretical explanation about the difference betweenterahertz wave parametric generator and nonlinear optical difference frequencymethod,also explain several phenomenathat the terahertz wave parametric generatorappears;Make analysis and discussion on the structural characteristics and workingprinciple of backward wave oscillator and pyroelectric detector that used in theresearch on terahertz target scattering characteristics;in allusion to the influence of thedielectric constant of metal to the radar target cross section, this article discuss thechange law of the relative dielectric constant of metal changes with frequency,explainthe influence of different frequency to radar metal target cross section.2. The writer launches theoretical researchonterahertz wave target scatteringcharacteristics.In order to do some in-depth exploration about terahertz wave targetscattering characteristics,at first the writer do research on the scattering characteristicsof microwave band and infrared band that both ends in terahertz band.And thenaccording to scattering theory the writer make a deep analysis of the high frequencyanalytic solution of metal sphere scattering,the high frequency approximate solutionof metal plate scattering and the Kirchhoff solution of rough metal sphere,this articlealso make an analysis of the infrared lambert sphere scatting and infrared lambertplane scattering.3.The experimental scheme of terahertz target scattering characteristics is putforward for the first time. The test system of terahertz wave target scatteringcharacteristicsis built with System Integration Technology,With this system the writerdo some research on the low frequency terahertzscattering characteristics on roughmetal surface of separated source and receiver system and merged source and receiversystem,and then the writer get a series of meaningful results.In ordertostudythescattering characteristics ofdifferent frequency,the second time the writeruse3.11terahertz CO2pumped terahertz laser make a study of the terahertzscattering characteristics of merged source and receiver system.Test results areveryvaluable,andformedpart of the scattering theory model.4.The concept of terahertz radar calibrator is put forward for the first time, inaddition the writermake a study of the basis theory of radar cross section.Then thewriter make a discussion about the influence of rough surface to radar cross section,the influence of dielectric constant of metal to radar metal target cross section, theinfluence of sphere target cross section in different wave band to radar cross sectionand the influence of coherent scattering and incoherent scattering to radar crosssection.With the help of microwave radar standard target theory and laser radarstandard target theory,the requirements of terahertz radar standard body are putforward,that is——ideal conductor, rough surface,sphere.5. Terahertz radar target standard body is used in the actual test of terahertz radarstandard target cross section for the first time in this article.Put forward and launchsome research on terahertz radar cross section standard body,the material that can beused as terahertz radarcross section standard body is acquired experimentally. Andthen the writer launchfurther research on terahertz radar standard target cross section,and the result have been analyzed.
