With the rapid development of wireless communication technology,wireless networks of different standards coexist,and the convergence of heterogeneous wireless networks can better solve the high demands of wireless network capacity.This paper developed a multi-mode heterogeneous wireless network platform based on software radio to verify the transmission and handover performance of LTE and WiFi heterogeneous converged networks and experimented the feasibility and effect of intelligent handoff technologies.The main contribution of this paper is as follows:1.In order to verify the performance of heterogeneous converged networks,this paper set up the WiFi link based on Universal Software Radio Peripheral(USRP),which is converged with the LTE link established based on OpenAirInterface(OAI).The LTE/WiFi heterogeneous wireless network transmission platform is realized.Then Design and develop a link control platform above the hardware transport platform.The control functions of the entire platform are centralized on the control platform,which distributes the data flow direction and real-time displays the statistical information of current transmission link such as throughput,packet loss rate.Experimental results show that the delay of handover service response between LTE and WiFi links is stable at about 200ms,which is 80%lower than that of existing inter-heterogeneous handover services.2.Design and develop the intelligent handover function on the control platform,and the packet loss rate threshold interval is set dynamically according to the link quality information to achieve intelligent link selection.Experimental results show that the reliability of service quality in the inter-heterogeneous network handover process is improved.Finally,it summarizes the full text and proposes the current deficiencies and optimization of heterogeneous wireless network platforms.
