In the field of the array signal processing,the DOA estimation of the plane wave is always a fundamental problem.In the past few decades,many high-resolution DOA estimation algorithms have been proposed,such as Multiple Signal Classification algorithms(MUSIC),Root-MUSIC,and Estimation of Signal Parameters via Rotation Invariance Techniques(ESPRIT),etc.Some traditional high-resolution algorithms can accurately estimate the angle of the signal,but because they need two-dimensional direction searching,the algorithms have high complexity and large computational load,which limit the promotion of the algorithm performance.First of all,the research status of the DOA estimation are introduced briefly in this chapter,and the basic theory of spatial spectrum estimation is introduced.Next,a deep study of DOA algorithms in L-shaped array is conducted,and the decoupled method is proposed.In the proposed method,the Jacobi-Anger expansion is utilized to decouple the elevation angle from the azimuth angle,which means that the reconstructed manifold of the L-shaped array is the product of the two matrices of elevation and azimuth angles.The new formulation of the array manifold is applied in the Root-MUSIC algorithm,and then we can obtain the DOA estimated values.Simulation results are presented to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method.Then,DOA algorithms in the uniform rectangular array are studied.In the traditional 2-D MUSIC algorithm,the two-dimensional direction searching is needed to get the DOA estimation,which cause the large computational load and high complexity.In order to make balance between the complexity and the performance,the decoupled method is used in URA,and only 1-D elevation searching is needed to estimate the 2-D DOA.Besides,we conduct a comprehensive comparison between the decoupled method and 2-D MUSIC through detailed simulation experiments.Finally,we summarize and prospect the DOA estimation method of antenna array in the last chapter.
