Navigation radar's main function is determining a certain range of ships or islands and other solid objects' distance and orientation around the ship to provide protection,to avoid collision with other shipsfor the ship sailing,therefore radar plays a very important role in sailing on the sea,radar has obvious advantages over the traditional search of targets with the naked eye.The radar searches through electromagnetic waves,so it has the advantages of long search range,accurate target recognition and full-time work,radars are widely used in the search for solid targets on the sea.This paper toke the actual research project as the research background,andit was based on the existing research results of further radar target detection research.This paper summarized the radar target detection technology under the sea clutter,and analyzed the three kinds of methods,the traditional classical target detection method and the chaotic method have some limitations,the fractal method can make up for the shortcomings.Fractal theory applies to the object of the coastline,sea clutter and other geometric shapes of the object,and it can make up the traditional statistics model and chaotic model of detection algorithm,so this paper worked on the basis of fractal theory and the fractal characteristics of sea clutter and target were analyzed,and the target detection was performed by using the difference between them.This paper firstly introduced the radar signal adapter,which collects,processes,transforms the signal of the radar,and stores it as a file conforming to the corresponding protocol,which is the input of the target detection unit.Secondly,the median filtering method in spatial domain was used to process the original data in the condition of ensuring the image information completed.Then,the paper studied the fractal characteristics of sea clutter and man-made targets,a target detector based on fractal difference was proposed based on the difference of fractal characteristics.In this detector the average Hurst index was replaced with the average value that less than a certain threshold,combined with the statistical theory to determine the threshold value,according to the threshold judgment principle,when the fractal difference is greater than the threshold value,it indicates that the target is contained,otherwise it is pure sea clutter.A two-level detection algorithm was used to determine the center of the detected target location,and the validity of the proposed algorithm was verified by the Matlab simulation program based on the real data.The result shows that the target detection algorithm based on fractal difference can effectively detect the solid targets in the sea surface.After detection,the secondary detection algorithm was used to determine the center position of the detected target,and verify the effectiveness of the detection algorithm on the basis of real data.Finally,the functional requirements analysis and outline design of radar signal adapter display and control software and target detection and display software were respectively carried out.And VC6.0 was used as the development platformto complete the detailed design of radar signal adapter software and target detection based on MFC program framework.The data playback equipment and the radar data measured in sea experimental were used to test the radar signal adapter and the target detection and display software,test results show that the software designed in this paper meets the requirements of the requirements analysis and the performance is stable.
