A sonobuoy is a device used to detect and identify objects moving in the water.Typically,a passive sonobuoy is used to detect objects by listening for the sounds produced by propellers and machinery.The passive sonobuoy is not only very important to detect the ocean information,but also plays an essential role to ensure the safety of the territory of the ocean.This paper presents a design of passive sonar buoy hardware platform.First of all,based on the sonobuoy systems development in the world,this paper lists the massive structure and technical parameters of some sonobuoys which establish foundation for the design of hardware platform.And this paper introduces the working process of the sonobuoy which helps us understand it.Then,the basic principle of beamforming,the space structure of UCA and its statistical data model are introduced in detail.And then,this paper recommends the amplitudecomparing bearing method.This part provides the theoretical basis for the design of the hardware platform and software program design.What's more,the hardware platform has been designed in modular method,divided in data conversion module,UART module,DSP+FPGA module,data storage module,power module.These modules can complete sonobuoy function.The software program should be able to complete the multi-channel data acquisition which is consistent,and move the data correctly.Through the algorithm implementation of the amplitude-comparing bearing method,this paper validates the correctness and feasibility of hardware platform design.And then stores the data in the SD card.Finally,this paper introduces the test results of the hardware platform,driver,amplitudecomparing bearing method and pool experiment.Through simulation,electric debugging and pool test,the function state and parameter were tested.
