Electric heating fused method method is used for fiber optic couplers,splitters,optical gratings and other optical devices production,in this paper we use fused taper LPFG to explore the relationship between fused taper cone of process parameters and fiber morphology.This paper can also provide reference and experimental basis for the preparation of a variety of optical devices.In this paper,we used electric heating fused taper method for preparing long-period fiber gratings.The advantages of this method is no material doped with hypersensitivity contained hydrogen and other special techniques have to be used,it also has good thermal stability with simple preparing method.structure modulated fiber grating can be manufactured with electric heating method,fiber gratings with this structure has more stable transmission characteristics at high temperatures,and as the temperature rises,the temperature sensitivity will be better,so it's suited to production of high temperature sensors.This article was prepared and carried out research on fiber grating sensing properties of long-period tapering method,the main research work is as follows:Firstly,a brief introduction was given for the history of the development of methods for fiber grating,research status,and the production of long-period fiber gratings,then we analyzed and compared their advantages and disadvantages.Secondly,we used ANSYS finite element software for electric heating tapering machine generated temperature field simulation,thermal structure and tapering to process simulation,analysis of the temperature distribution of the fiber in the sub-category ring heating temperature field and thermal deformation of the fiber status,its tapering actual results are compared to simulation results can select fused taper as an important basis for the process parameters.Thirdly,experiments were carried out at different parameters,then we compared the affection of various process parameters the optical fiber tapered,at last we selected the appropriate process parameters for preparing long-period fiber grating.The result of resonant peak position is 1535 nm,resonant peak depth is 28 dB.Then we acquired its complete acquisition gate region image under the microscope by image processing to extract the geometry parameters of the grating.At last,we carried out experimental studies of long period fiber grating temperature sensing properties,the temperature sensitivity of the low-temperature segment is 67.1pm /?,the temperature sensitivity of the high-temperature segment is 98.6pm /?.The tapering process for the preparation of long period fiber grating based on electric heating method given in this paper can also provide important theoretical and experimental reference for other fused optics manufacturing technology.
