This paper introduces the history of the instrument and several kinds of common instrument.This paper focus on the situation and developing direction of the Fluxgate magnetometer.Fluxgate phenomenon and its mathematic module is setup in this paper.The module is the algorithm basic of the Fluxgate magnetometer.Moreover,based on the physics parameter of Fluxgate sensor,mathematic analysis and simulation is presented to the guidance of circuit design and choice of sensor.In this work,a Fluxgate magnetometer based on second harmonic analog method and its corresponding circuit and system is designed.The system includes excitation circuit,induction signal processing circuit,ADC,digital signal processing circuit and other addition circuit.The induction signal processing circuit consist of frequency selective amplification,phase sensitive detection,smoothing filtering,voltage lifting module.The system is designed with MSP430F427 control unit to improve the intensity and reduce power consumption.The prototype is tested to compare with commercial product.The correction and performance of the prototype is evaluated.At last,some optimization is also proposed to improve the performance.
