With the emergence of new applications of a wireless sensor network(WSN),connecting WSN to the Internet and achieving the point-to-point communications between WSN and the Internet has become an inevitable trend in the future.IPv6 over Low Power Wireless Personal Area Networks(6LoWPAN)defines the standards for IPv6-based low-power wireless personal area networks,and becomes an ideal solution to realize point-to-point communication between WSN and the IPv6-based Internet.In 6LoWPAN WSN,each sensor node is configured with an globally unique address and can achieve point-to-point communications with nodes in the IPv6-based Internet.Compared with the traditional WSN,6LoWPAN WSN has a more extensive application prospect,and plays an important role in various areas such as environment monitoring,health care,and so on.Before 6LoWPAN WSN achieves correct communications,it is necessary to configure each node with a unique address and then establish correct routing.The resources in 6LoWPAN WSN are limited,so it is significant to achieve energy-efficient addressing and routing.This paper studies the addressing and routing issues in 6LoWPAN WSN,and the main research works in this paper are fourfold:(1)The algorithm of constructing 6LoWPAN WSN based on location information is proposed.This algorithm divides 6LoWPAN WSN into several zones and takes advantage of IEEE 802.15.4 beacons to elect backbone nodes in order to construct a backbone tree.Consequently,the network construction latency is reduced and the network performance is improved.(2)Based on the network construction algorithm,the hierachical address configuration algorithm is proposed.In the algorithm,multiple backbone nodes can perform addressing at the same time,so the addressing and delay can be reduced.Moreover,common nodes can achieve addressing in parallel,so the address allocation efficiency is improved.(3)Based on the network construction and addressing algorithms,the routing optimization algorithm is proposed.This algorithm can automatically establish the routing paths by taking advantage of the correlations between a node's location information and address.As a result,the routing delay is reduced and the network stability is improved and the routing correctness is guaranteed.
