| Nowadays in the communication of information including communicating via paper and via internet,the cross-media replication technology is an essential part of communication.An essential part of cross-media replication technology is the gamut mapping technique.The technology makes it possible to communicate between different devices of color information,and to maximize the retention of color information as far as possible,so that the information is not lost.This paper started from the most basic color gamut mapping algorithm,and studies on the operation mechanism of algorithms,such as HPMINDE and SGCK algorithms.To avoid the effect of the nonuniformity of CIELAB color space,a color gamut mapping algorithm based on the color map of the same hue is proposed.The new algorithms try to minimize the side-effect of the nonuniformity of the work space to the mapping results.The gamut mapping algorithm proposed in this paper includes some steps,such as: firstly,all the colors are divided into 7 types according to the hue of the primary colors,the intermediate points of the primary colors and the gray points.Each type of colors have the same hue and different saturation.Translated these colors from RGB space to LAB space,linked the points,can get the curves in three-dimensional space.According to the trend of the curves,color points can be predicted which have the same hue and different saturation comparing with the source point.Finally,the method of predicting the color points according to the curve is used to translate the color point out off the gamut of the devices.It is ensured that the color points obtained by the mapping algorithm have the same hue as the source color.According to the new color gamut mapping algorithm proposed by this paper,the program is written in the MATLAB software environment,and four standard images are selected as the test images.In this study,we use objective formulas and psychophysical experiments to evaluate the images.Based on the two evaluation results,we can conclude that the new color gamut mapping algorithm has better performance than HPMINDE algorithm and SGCK algorithm,and it is more suitable for observer’s vision.But there are some deficiencies,such as the colors were sorted roughly.Then we will sort the colors carefully,so that it can improve the performance of mapping algorithm. |
