Target tracking technology has been widely used in the military fields of navigation,guidance,alarm,monitoring also in the civilian areas of traffic monitoring and security system.In recent years,with the rapid development of target tracking algorithm and the fast updating of various types of image processors,it has important theoretical significance and engineering value to study the high-precision target tracking algorithm and applied the target tracking theory to real-time embedded system.This paper focuses on the study of DSP-based target tracking system.By studying several classical target tracking algorithms,we try to combine the classical target tracking algorithm with the embedded hardware platform.With the help of the DSP/BIOS tool provided by TI,this paper realizes the engineering application of the target tracking algorithm.Firstly,two kinds of target tracking algorithms based on template matching and Bayesian estimation theory are studied for the target tracking scene with noise.Based on the in-depth study of particle filter,an improved particle filter algorithm based on template matching is proposed,and the effectiveness of the algorithm is verified in the experiment.Secondly,according to the application requirements of the system,DM642 is designed as the core processor of the target tracking system with the system been designed with external video acquisition and display,data and program storage,data communication.The whole system hardware platform has been tested works.Through the untangle of the image data flow in the target tracking process,the software framework of the target tracking system based on DSP/BIOS embedded operating system is constructed.The real-time work of the algorithm in DSP platform is realized by DSP programming optimization of the C program.Experiments show that the tracking performance of the system is stable and meets the real-time requirements.
