Network Virtualization enables decoupling of network infrastructure and network services.Applications allocate a physical network,by virtualizing the network,the traffic of different applications is isolated from each other,and a physical network is logically divided into multiple different virtual networks.With the emergence of Software Defined Networking(SDN),network virtualization that supports dynamic heterogeneous underlay networks is easier to implement.As optical communications with high transmission speed,high capacity,and other characteristics,optical network has been the underlying infrastructure network hosting network operations.How to leverage optical network virtualization technology in the optical network to make the underlying network more flexible and adapt to a variety of business demands has become an urgent problem to be solved.Among relevant open source projects,OpenVirteX is an SDN-based network virtualization platform focusing on infrastructure network virtualization.In this paper,we research on Optical Network Virtualization Platform Based on OpenVirteX.Through researching on expansion of the protocol library and developing platform including topology discovery,ion of optical physical network resource,virtualization and devirtualization of OpenFlow messages and extension of northbound API.OpenVirteX already supports a variety of optical port exchange,and finally we implement optical network virtualization based on OpenVirteX.Finally,through the experiment,we verify functions and the results prove that the optical network virtualization platform developed in this paper can provide the virtualization service of optical network infrastructure correctly and effectively.The virtual optical network mapping(VONE)strategy has very important influence on the performance of optical network virtualization.In this paper,we study the mapping strategy of optical networks based on two-dimensional resource space of wavelength slots and time slots,and discuss the advantages of optical network virtualization mapping strategy in multi-dimensional and fine-grained resources.Simulation results show that the proposed strategy can achieve fair performance in terms of physical network resource utilization and virtual network mapping success rate under the COST239 and NSFNet-24 networks.
