With the rapid development of cloud computing industry,many industries have joined the tide of cloud computing.As a data center network hosting cloud computing business,it faces the challenge of rapid growth of business traffic.It is imperative to promote the research and innovation of network technologies in the data center.With the increase in business requirements,the intra-rack server NIC speed is bound to be a corresponding increase(40Gbps and even 100Gbps),limited to the exchange capacity of the top switch will be under tremendous pressure.Optical switching has the advantages of rate transparency,low power consumption,and low cost compared to electricity,but its control plane lacks flexibility in a fine-grained exchange scenario.How to complement each other for the advantages of both in the data center optical hybrid networking has become a new research hot spot.Based on the current research results about the optical interconnection network in the rack and the combination of SDN technology and data center network,in order to realize the intelligent SDN in the rack,this paper presents a set of intra-rack optical hybrid network architecture.Combined with SDN technology,Flexible scheduling to ease the pressure on the exchange network between the rack in DC,combined with network controller technology to complete the flow control.For the server-oriented optical interconnection network,with studying the Fastpass framework and the DPDK technology,we expand the design of the network controller for the optical interconnection system,implement a new time slot assignment algorithm which suitable for optical interconnection scenarios and the control logic of the optical switching device.And through experiments to verify its computing power and network capacity.Combining with the above research results,aiming at the problem of data transmission time precision and the switching efficiency of optical equipment in intra-rack optical interconnection scenarios,an optical OTDM optimization with periodic slot scheduling is proposed.Among them,(1)Using FPGA design and implementation a nano-speed optical device based optical switch which suitable for this scenario;(2)TDM-based network proxy solution on the server side is designed and implemented according to the technical advantages of DPDK,by testing the relevant indicators to prove its practicality.Finally,the article analyzes the time synchronization problem faced by the optical interconnection system under the practical application scenario and gives the plan to solve the problem by the hardware device.As a new optical interconnection scheme applied to data center intra-rack network,this system has certain exploration and experimentality.It also hopes to provide a research idea for future research in this direction.
