The Mainland China TV variety shows have developed rapidly in recent years with the birth of a batch of high ratings ones,such as "I'm a Singer"," The Voice of China",etc.These variety shows not only get high ratings in mainland but also catch public attention in Taiwan.Some variety shows' copyrights have even been bought by Taiwan local television media.Erenow,it was Taiwan shows that had always been popular on the mainland Internet and in other channels,while the mainland's were rarely spread to Taiwan.However,the situation has been totally reversed nowadays.Mainland variety shows have been well received in Taiwan,which causes a lot of discussions among the academic and the media circles.The introduction part elaborates the background and the significance of this research,classifies the outcomes of the past research works,explains the ideas and methods of this paper,in which the questionnaire survey and semi-structured depth interview are two main methods.The quantitative and qualitative research will be combined in order to enhance the scientific nature of the paper.In addition,this chapter also summarizes the main content of the research and defines some related concepts.The second chapter expounds the mainland variety shows' popularity in Taiwan from the content and transmission channel two aspects.The mainland variety shows exported to Taiwan are mainly singing type and copyrights introduction is dominant.Network is the key transmission channel,while the traditional TV is auxiliary.Broadcasting and audience ratings,as well as clicks ratio can present the performance of mainland variety shows in Taiwan,and certify these shows'popularity.Chapter three as a key part explains the reasons for mainland variety shows'popularity in Taiwan.The higher production levels,the sense of identity emerging from the cultural commonality,the mainland government's supporting policies,and the faster development of network media in mainland are the four important factors contributing to such a phenomenon.The fourth chapter talks about how to better export mainland variety shows abroad based on the revelation of Taiwan.Suggestions including optimize the content and open up new ways of communication.More specific recommendations are attaching importance to the shows' original brand and high quality,focusing on the culture localization,strengthening the cooperation with overseas media,optimizing the distribution strategies,etc.The above advice based on the field research and combined with the actual situation is of certain reference value.The conclusion part summarizes the results of the research,points out the deficiency in the paper,and makes a prediction of the mainland variety shows future development.
