As a fast-growing and extremely important frontier research field,MMW antenna technology has great potential applications in different fields such as high-speed wireless communication,radar and electronic warfare.MMW antenna technology also has a great strategic significance in promoting national economic development and strengthening national security construction.Substrate Integrated Waveguide(SIW)has the advantages of high power capacity,low loss,high integration,low cost,large-scale production,high precision and so on.It is a promising candidate for developing MMW planar wideband antennas.Therefore,research on planar wideband antenna in two MMW frequency range is conducted based on SIW technology in this paper.The main work is as follows:1.At first,the development of MMW planar wideband antenna is summarized.Then,the structure of SIW is introduced.Then,the basic theory of ME complementary dipoles is expounded.2.A novel planar wideband complementary magneto-electric dipole antenna is reported for the emerging Q-LINKPAN.For the wideband array application,a miniature structure is proposed and investigated.The parameters and performance of the miniaturized cell are analyzed in detail.A 2 X 2 array antenna is designed based on the miniaturized cell.The array antenna is fabricated by using low cost PCB techniques.And then the S parameters,gain and radiation patterns are measured in the chamber.The results show that the simulated and measured results are in good agreement.The-10 dB impedance bandwidth of the demonstrated 2×2 array is 36.6%,i.e.from 36.8 to 53.3 GHz.Stable radiation patterns,low cross polarization levels and high radiation efficiencies are found within a wide operation frequency band.In addition,a stable gain of 11.6±0.6 dBi is found as well.This work has been accepted by IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters.3.A W band planar wideband antenna is introduced.In this work,a parasitic dipole is introduced and coupled with the SIW radiate slot.A 1 X 4 linear array and a 4 X 8 array are introduced based on this antenna cell,and the parameters and performance are analyzed in detail.The array antenna is fabricated by using low cost PCB techniques.And then the S parameters,gain and radiation patterns are measured in the chamber.The results show that the simulated and measured results are in good agreement.The-10 dB impedance bandwidth of the demonstrated 4×8 array is 13.89%,i.e.from 78.4 to 90.1 GHz.Stable radiation patterns,low cross polarization levels and high radiation efficiencies are found within a wide operation frequency band.In addition,a stable gain of 18.95-20.31 dBi is found as well.
