With the rapid development and extensive use,Wireless Sensor Networks is faced with the problem of poor fading resistance and how reliable transmission.Multihop relaying is an effective technique to combat the negative impacts of wireless communication caused by channel fading,so it is widely used in wireless networks.Based on Rayleigh fading channels,through established a discrete-time Markov chain model and energy efficiency model,we studied the steady-state distribution and the performance of throughput and energy efficiency of multi-hop ARQ system.The main results are presented as follows:Firstly,through established three-state Markov chain model,we compared the throughput of the multi-hop ARQ(Automatic Repeat Request)system under three cases: packet drop at the all relay nodes,packet drop at the partial relay nodes,no packet drop at the relay node.We got the conclusion: the performance of throughput is best when no packet drop at the relay node,the performance of throughput is worst when packet drop at the all relay nodes.we verified the performance of throughput was basically consistent in simulation and theoretical.Secondly,through established energy efficiency model,we compared the performance of energy efficiency of the multi-hop ARQ system under two cases: packet drop at the relay nodes,no packet drop at the relay node.We got the conclusion:the performance of energy efficiency when no packet drop at the relay node is better than the performance of energy efficiency when packet drop at the relay nodes.The validity of our conclusion is further verified by numerical simulation.Finally,we introduced the analysis process of the throughput of multi-relay cooperative-ARQ system,refined and summarized the analysis method as the ”relay aggregation method”,and divided the method into three steps.In this paper,we extended the “relay aggregation method”to the throughput of multi-hop ARQ system,and analyzed the performance of throughput of multi-hop ARQ system from different aspects,it is a perfect result.It is proved that the performance of throughput of multi-relay and multi-hop ARQ system has a uniform point,and will beneficial to the overall planning of the two kinds of cooperative ARQ protocols.
