Pulse compression radar is a kind of radar based on pulse compression technology. For the contribution of pulse compression technology, pulse compression radar can deal with the contribution in range resolution cause by long pulse and detection range cause by short pulse. This paper adopts Linear Frequency Modulation signal to realize pulse compression.Linear Frequency Modulation signal is one of the common used pulse compression signals.Which has acquired extensive use in radar system and other electronic equipments. This paper aims to design a frequency source used in ship based pulse compression radar. This frequency source covers L-band,S-band,C-band and X-band,in operating frequency band, centered at a frequency and outputting linear chirp with a frequency band of 300 MHz.At first, this paper expounds the principle and generation methods, introduces the principle of frequency synthesis technique. And then proposes a designing scheme integrated advantages of three methods of the frequency synthesis technique. After that calculation and simulation of key circuit is done. Finally this paper verifies the feasibility by circuit test. This paper fully combines the virtues of Direct Frequency Synthesis,Phase-Locked(PLL)Frequency Synthesis and direct digital synthesis(DDS).DDS produces narrow-band frequency signal with advantages of high resolution and frequency-agility;Direct frequency doubling produces dot frequency with advantages of low phase noise and high stability signal; And realizing miniaturization by high-integrated PLL,at the same time, decreasing system complexity and variable factor, improving reliability and controllability.
