The pulse compression technique, which is widely used in modern radar system, effectively solves the contradiction between radar and distance resolution. And the keyto determine the performance of radar signal pulse compression lies in its properties inthe waveform. This paper mainly introduces the Linear Frequency Modulated signal andthe Hyperbolic Frequency Modulated signal of the two pulse compression signals. This paper explains matched filter theory and two kinds of pulse compressionsignals features firstly and by using the theory of ambiguity function of the radarwaveform design, the simulation analysis of the ambiguity function figure is completed;then based on different speed of the target are pulse compression simulation, thecontrast of the properties of the two signals are analyzed in detail. It analyzesthe time-varying nature of Doppler from the theoretical perspective. In order to get a better location effect, this paper uses different approaches toprocess the results of two kinds of signal pulse compression. Firstly, it uses weightingmethod to conduct sidelobe suppression of both pulse output; secondly, the spectrum oftransmitted signal is modified, introducing Nonlinear frequency modulated signal whichhas low sidelobe output; finally with the introduction of the prerequisite process anddetection of Clean algorithm, it deals with the compression result of adjacenttargets, with the help of Clean algorithm, two FM signal pulse compression results arehandled respectively, and improves the resolution of target distance.
