Wideband high power microwave is more suitable for developing high efficiency,compact high power microwave radiation system,with advantages of no need for electron beam driving,guiding magnetic field,vacuum working environment,and high back door coupling efficiency.As the most important part of radiation system,wideband high power microwave antenna has always been a research hotspot in recent years.In this dissertation,an electric-magnetic vibrator combined antenna is proposed to apply to the wideband high power microwave radiation system.Besides,the design and simulation,experiment and application of the electric-magnetic vibrator combined antenna are investigated.Detailed researches cover many aspects as follows.1.Two radiating elements of the electric-magnetic vibrator combined antenna,the current loop radiation unit and the TEM horn radiation unit are analyzed.Principals of the electric-magnetic vibrator combined antenna are further analyzed and summarized.By adjusting current loop perimeter and TEM horn's structure sizes,impedance characteristics can be adjusted to form complementary radiation with electric dipole and magnetic dipole,making space transient radiation fields of two radiating elements superposed to maximize the radiation efficiency of the antenna.2.The research of electric-magnetic vibrator combined antenna is conducted via simulation software.Simulation results indicate that the electric-magnetic vibrator combined antenna with aperture dimension of 20 cm×20 cm is a better option for both good radiation performance and miniaturization design.When current loop perimeter being about half antenna aperture perimeter,the electric-magnetic vibrator combined antenna shows better impedance characteristics and radiation performance.Antenna opening angles have little influence on the electric-magnetic vibrator combined antenna.Simulations of electric-magnetic vibrator combined antenna with high power signals demonstrate that,maximum radiation factor of 150 kV,the radiation factor gain of 0.66 and the energy efficiency of about 70.6%,could be obtained by an feed-in of wideband high power pulse at peak voltage of 226 kV,which has good radiation effects.3.The optimized design of electric-magnetic vibrator combined antenna is manufactured to measure the impedance bandwidth and the direction pattern.The experimental results agree well with the simulation results.4.The designed and manufactured electric-magnetic vibrator combined antenna is applied to the wideband high power microwave system to carry out wideband high power pulse experiments.When the charging voltage is 280 kV,the maximum radiation factor of 103.5 kV,the peak power of 177.6 MW,the energy efficiency of about 24%,the center frequency of 375 MHz,and the 3dB bandwidth of about 24% can be obtained.Those verified it is feasible for the electric-magnetic vibrator combined antenna to apply in the wideband high power microwave system.
